Maggie was Born in January 2021. When she was born we thought she had down syndrome because she had a lot of the same facial features. Low set ears, almond shaped eyes with the epicanthal fold, short neck, and flattened nasal bridge. They sent off a genetic test that came back showing a duplication on chromosome 10. We are almost 6 months old but doing very very well. She is small, and has low muscle tone. But she is rolling, holding her neck very well and loves to blow raspberries. No major medical issues but we are watching the kidneys as this seems to be a big problem with this genetic disorder.

January 2022Maggie turned a year old this month! She is really doing amazing and she brings is so much joy. For the most part she is very healthy. There are no major medical issues at this time. She is still very petite, about 15.5 lbs (7kg). Although she LOVES to eat and will eat anything and everything, she just doesnt eat a lot of it. It was the same when she was taking a bottle she never drank more than 4 oz at a time. We are in occupational, physical and speech therapy. She is moving around really well. She is able to army crawl and sit up without assistance. We deal with low muscle tone but we work everyday on strengthening her muscles. She doesn't talk much so we will be getting a formal audiology exam on her soon to make sure her hearing is good. For the most part she is a very happy child, very curious, loves to play and has a great personality.
